MBL carries out seaweed survey

MBL carries out a seaweed survey in Scottish waters, with the assistance of experts from Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) confirming the presence of large stocks of high quality Laminaria Hyperborea seaweed in many locations off the Scottish west coast; as well as being re-assured on seaweed stocks, the survey gave MBL the chance to test out both the scale up steps to full scale, commercial, alginate production; MBL’s alginate pilot plant continues to operate successfully.
